President Jonathan Reluctant To Offer Congratulations, But Buhari Says God Made Sanusi Emir
President Goodluck Jonathan
By SaharaReporters, New York
Jonathan controversially sacked Sanusi a few months ago as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and as SaharaReporters has detailed since yesterday, he and his Peoples Democratic Party did everything to prevent Sanusi from gaining the powerful title of Emir of Kano.
Nigeria’s former Head of State, in a press statement he sent to SaharaReporters from his Kaduna base told the new Emir he has been chosen by God and so should fear God and treat all the people of Kano as those under his care and supervision.
“You should cultivate all and exclude none,” Buhari said, speaking like a true statesman.
“Your immediate duty is to rally the people to support the government in fighting terrorism and unrest. You should also bring your wealth of experience in assisting the economic revival of the state and the country.”
Buhari reminded Sanusi that he is assuming an office that was once occupied by such great historical figures such Muhammadu Rumfa, Ibrahim Dabo, Abdullahi Bayero, and Muhammadu Sanusi, and urged him to strive to be a worthy successor to those great men
