TVC NEWS [MOMBASA]- The chairman of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya, Sheikh Mohamed Idris, has been shot dead.
TVC NEWS Correspondent reports that the Muslim cleric is said to have been on his way to a mosque near his Likoni home in the coastal town of Mombasa on Tuesday morning when unknown assailants attacked him.
His body has been taken to Pandya Memorial Hospital.
It would be recalled that in December last year, Sheikh Idris and his counterpart Mohamed Khalifa narrowly escaped death after an attack at their mosque by more than 100 youths
